Since 1997 I’ve been helping small business owners, all types of service providers and specifically coaches and holistic practitioners build websites that help them meet their business goals.
Being a website designer was always a means to another end for me. And in the late 90’s I opened an alternative healing practice. As I marketed my practice, I knew having a website could be a very powerful tool for getting new clients. Like most web designers, though, I thought a website would bring me droves of clients.
That wasn’t the case – people didn’t just flock to my practice simply because I had a website. So I set out to find out how to use my website to grow my practice. Over the next couple of years I figured it out and my website successfully grew my client practice. But it wasn’t without a lot of learning, a bunch of trial-and-error and a lot of hard work.
After three years, I closed my practice (long story) and got back into website design. But this time I knew I had to share the knowledge I had gained with my clients. So I began working with visual design and site architecture, but helping my clients build marketing plans, clarify business goals, build a site around their audience’s expectations and eventually how to use social media.
Now, that’s what I do – build websites and coach, advise, guide and teach my clients how to use them to get more clients. As you can probably guess, there’s more to it than just putting out a website. And that’s where I can help.
Another way that I tend to really help my clients is with breaking through the complexities and overcoming the overwhelm of this whole online business world. My way of teaching and coaching seems to make the web simple and easier for my clients – at least that’s what they tell me. All that I know is I don’t give you more than you can understand, digest and actually use. The rest – just a waste of both of our time.
The bottom line is you can have the greatest website with the best copy and most incredible offers but if you can’t actually do anything with it – if you can’t get people to see it – than it won’t do a thing to help you grow your business.
